Terms and Concepts of the InkCenter

Objective: To assist in the identification and proper terminology of the Ink Center components

InkCenter Component Identification

The operator accessible items of the ink Center can be divided into several areas:

  • Drill
  • Prep
  • Fill
  • Test
  • 3 top drawers
  • Maintenance
  • Ink Supply

Drill Station

  • The drill station is located on the left.  It can be replaced as an assembly
  • The micro switch can be changed if needed

Prep Stations

  • There are 2 prep stations that are used to clean the printheads and evacuate the ink from the cartridges
  • Prep A is towards the back and Prep B is towards the front
  • On the front of the Prep Station, there is the receiver hook
  • On the back is the spring loaded latch
  • The prep seals are oval and operator replaceable

Fill Chamber

  • Chamber door
  • Chamber gasket
  • Chamber Seal
  • Receiver hook (just like the prep stations)
  • Spring latch on the back to secure the adapters in the station.
  • 4 colored injectors
  • Injector Holster
  • Upper hinges
  • Lower hinges
  • Cleaning wipes container
  • The fill chamber area also contains the 15/45 station

Tester: The tester contains the following replaceable components

  • Tester cover
  • Tester latch in front
  • Interconnect board
  • The complete tester assembly is replaced by the technician

Top drawers

  • On the left are the Refill Adapters.  They are used in the prep and fill stations
  • The center drawer is used for supplies and the HP02 Vent caps
  • The right top drawer is used to store the test adapters

Maintenance

  • The lower left drawer is used for maintenance
  • Vacuum wand
  • Waste drain and receptacle
  • Cleaning fluid

Ink Supply

  • There are 4 ink supply drawers
  • One for each of the colors.  Black, Yellow, Magenta and Cyan
  • Black has a max capability of 6 inks
  • The YMC can have up to 7 ink Bottles.
  • Only one ink drawer can be opened at a time.
